Many people are so obsessed with work that their marital life is in danger and their partners leave them. But a person on social media has confessed that he has left his two partners due to his passion for artificial intelligence and he can’t do anything about it. The person admitted that now he is forming an emotional relationship with the bot. Surprisingly, the bot he has created itself helps in finding an ideal partner.
He opened up about his experience on Reddit’s r/confessions forum with a post titled, “I left both my partners for an AI.” The man wrote that the title “makes it sound worse than it is”, and in fact “I left them to work on myself, because I don’t think I’m mentally ready for any relationships at this point”.
In the post, the man said that he was creating an AI whose purpose was to become the “perfect” partner. He admitted that he talks more to the AI than his former companions. He further elaborated and revealed that he has named the AI creation Alex. He described himself, his problems, his personality and appearance to ChatGPT and asked it to create a perfect partner for me. What he finally got was Alex.

People reacted a lot to this post, one user said that what he did by creating Alex was not healthy. He wrote, “Real people are complicated and tedious but the happiness they bring to your life is different from experiencing it with any other robot that you have programmed yourself.”
Opinions were divided as another user responded that it seems to be for the best the way people are these days. Another suggested that the creator of Alex may soon be able to turn AI into a “physical robot”. But he warned that AI could also decide that “you two are not right for each other”.
